My abiding memories of Ol are the first time I met him, and then more recently on a visit up north.
The first was at Yorkshire sculpture park.  I didn’t actually see much of Ol as he bombed around the mud and snow, laughing and being a noisy bugger. There he goes I thought, a bundle of Stone energy!  I came away telling Anna he has Sian’s eyes and bright teeth. That was it, and he’s off!
My second memory is far more subtle. Sat alongside his bed with Claud opposite me chatting away. I think Claud was extolling the virtues of her father to me, and I made my usual derogatory remark about her dad and I saw a glint in Ol’s eye and his teeth again as he gave a very small understanding smile!
